Swimming Pool Fence Installation Melbourne
A pool that doesn’t meet fencing regulations isn’t just a compliance headache, it’s a genuine safety risk for kids. As a metal fencing company serving homes across Melbourne, we supply and install pool fencing using durable metal options rather than glass, so you get a compliant, low-maintenance barrier that holds up around chlorinated water for years. Styles include aluminium pool fencing and blade pool fence designs for a modern look, along with self-latching pool gates fitted to suit your layout.
From the initial measure through to fitting the gate, we handle every stage of your pool fencing project ourselves rather than outsourcing parts of the job. That means one team accountable for the finished result, not a chain of subcontractors passing the work along.
Here’s why local homeowners choose us for their pool fencing:
- Quality Workmanship: Every post and panel is fitted to spec and finished for a clean, straight result you won’t need to think about again.
- Friendly Service: You’ll deal with a friendly, approachable team who keep you updated from the first call through to the final walk-through.
- Custom Solutions: Style, height and gate placement are all tailored to suit your pool area and the rest of your property.
- Free Quotes: We’ll measure your site and provide an obligation-free quote before any work begins.

Gaps, low latches or the wrong spacing can mean a failed compliance check, but the real danger is what that gap means for a small child near water. Getting it right the first time isn’t just about ticking a box, it’s a mistake you can’t afford to make.

6 Benefits of a New Pool Fence
Meets Compliance Standards
Installed to Australian Standard AS1926.1-2012 requirements, giving you a barrier that’s ready for inspection and built for genuine safety.
Rust Resistant
Metal pool fencing holds up against constant exposure to chlorinated water without corroding.
Clear Pool Visibility
Styles like a tubular pool fence or aluminium picket keep sightlines open, so you can still supervise the pool area easily.
Low Maintenance
No painting or sealing required. An occasional wash is usually all it takes to keep it looking sharp.
Self-Latching Gates
Pool gates are fitted to close and latch automatically, reducing the risk of a gate being left open.
Modern Visual Appeal
A clean, well-finished pool fence lifts the look of your outdoor area, not just the compliance box it ticks.

Melbourne Pool Fencing FAQs
Do you install glass pool fencing?
No, we only install metal pool fencing options such as aluminium, steel and perforated styles. These materials hold up better around chlorinated water than glass and require far less ongoing maintenance.
Does your pool fencing meet Australian compliance standards?
We complete every pool fencing project with compliance built in from the design stage, not added on as an afterthought. Our fencing is installed to meet AS1926.1-2012, the Australian Standard for swimming pool safety barriers, which sets out requirements for barrier height, gap spacing, non-climbable zones and gate operation. In Victoria, these requirements are reinforced through the Building and Plumbing Commission’s pool safety barrier guidelines, which also cover the ongoing maintenance obligations pool owners need to keep on top of. We check every measurement against the standard as we install, rather than leaving compliance to be picked up at a final inspection.
Call us on (03) 9034 6066 to discuss what your specific pool area needs to meet compliance.
What metal pool fencing options do you offer?
We install aluminium pool fencing, steel rod and curved styles, and perforated or mesh pool fencing, in finishes like black, white and flat top. Each option balances visibility, style and durability differently, so we can help you weigh those up.
As experienced pool fencing contractors, get in touch and we’ll help you decide which style suits your outdoor area.
What is a self-latching gate?
A self-latching gate is a pool gate built to close and lock itself automatically after each use, without relying on anyone to remember to secure it. It isn’t the same as a gate that simply swings shut, since a compliant latch also has to sit above a minimum height and stay out of reach of a small child trying to get in from outside the pool area. Under AS1926.1-2012, that means the gate must swing away from the pool, close fully from any open position, and have its release mechanism positioned within the required non-climbable zone. It’s one of the most common points of failure at pool fencing inspections, which is why we check gate operation and latch height on every pool fence and gate we install.
Can my existing boundary fence be used as pool fencing?
In some cases, an existing boundary fence can count towards pool compliance if it meets the required height and spacing, though this needs to be assessed on a case by case basis. We can check your existing fencing as part of your onsite quote and let you know what’s needed.
Call us to arrange an assessment of your existing fence line.
How much does pool fencing cost?
Cost depends on the length and height of the fence, the material chosen, and how many gates are needed. Sites with tricky access or an existing fence to remove can also affect the price.
